General Neurology
International medical graduates (IMGs) on a visa comprise a quarter of all neurology residents in the US. The need for their expertise has never been greater. However, such IMGs who remain in the US after their training face a range of challenges that can limit their opportunities and scope of practice. Participants will learn about the path to a successful career in neurology as an IMG, with a focus on academic growth; better understand visa issues faced by IMG neurologists; examine challenges and opportunities for IMG neurologists pursuing academic careers; and discover recruitment and counseling strategies for IMG neurologists. There will be a discussion immediately following the panel in the Trainee Hub networking area, from 3:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.
