Participants should be able to develop strategies for diagnosis and assessment of patients with sleep disturbances likely to be encountered by neurologists; evaluate, assess, and list the differential diagnosis for patients who present with hypersomnia, insomnia, and abnormal motor activities during sleep; recognize the importance of polysomnography and other common laboratory testing in sleep medicine; and appreciate standard of care and new treatment options for common sleep disorders.
