Participants should gain an appreciation of how frameworks of thinking were transmitted from the legends of neurology at these schools to their trainees, and about the particular skills and teaching practices of the luminaries at these institutions and centers. Participants should be able to identify some of the factors that were in place at these schools that made them successful places of learning and influence. Participants should also come to see how current practice still bears the stamp of these schools and gain a better understand of the origins of our current knowledge.
