Participants should become familiar with the recognition of the features and consequences of spinal cord dysfunction. They should be able to identify the clinical presentation of: infections of the spine and spinal cord; compressive spondylotic myelopathies to include acute cauda equina syndrome; and spine trauma. Participants should become familiar with the diagnosis and management of spinal cord dysfunction secondary to these conditions, and be able to recognize the limitations of the imaging and diagnostic tests and the treatment.
