Participants should understand the complexities in determining the underlying infectious etiology of neurologic disorders through the discussion of two common disorders, multiple sclerosis and chronic fatigue syndrome, the considerations associated with prescribing effective agents that carry heavy side effects; and learn the pros and cons of current recommendations for the therapy of steroids in herpes simplex encephalitis. The interactive format will highlight the uncertainties and controversial issues in this important realm.
