Upon completion:
Participants should have a greater understanding of the inflammatory nature of cerebrovascular atherosclerosis and stroke; an up-to-date knowledge of the genetic and environmental infectious factors that influence this pathological process which may be linked to carotid disease and stroke; a better understanding of medications that affect this inflammatory process; and an awareness of the direction of novel future therapies targeting specific inflammatory factors.
