Upon Completion:
Participants should understand key criteria necessary to establish the diagnosis of PVS; be able to determine prognosis for individual patients in PVS based on etiology, related pathophysiology, and specific time frames; understand the need for intensive family caregiver counseling and support, and to understand the role of palliative care and hospice for PVS patients and an understanding of the ethical and legal framework bearing on decision-making by the neurologist.
