Participants should be able to identify and manage the risk factors, clinical manifestations, and treatment of respiratory complications commonly encountered in neurology patients, such as respiratory failure due to neuromuscular weakness and aspiration pneumonia; demonstrate the ability to evaluate and manage cardiac conditions that often coexist with neurologic disorders, such as arrhythmias, heart failure, and ischemic heart disease, in accordance with best practices; and apply evidence-based guidelines to assess and manage acute kidney injury and electrolyte disturbances commonly seen in hospitalized neurologic patients such as contrast-induced nephropathy and hyponatremia.
