Practice, Policy, and Ethics
As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to transform health care, its application in neurology presents both opportunities and risks. This course will provide a comprehensive examination of the medicolegal implications of implementing artificial intelligence in clinical practice, specifically within neurology. Participants will explore the legal, ethical, and regulatory frameworks surrounding artificial intelligence systems, focusing on how to mitigate potential risks, ensure patient safety, and comply with relevant laws and standards. The course will cover topics such as liability issues, data privacy, informed consent, intellectual property, and the role of the neurologist in AI-driven decision-making. By understanding these critical aspects, neurologists, administrators, and health care providers will be better equipped to incorporate artificial intelligence into their practice responsibly and effectively.
