Learning Objectives This program was developed by the Association for University Professors of Neurology (AUPN). In today's media-centric world, effective communication is crucial for health care professionals. This 45-minute session is intended to enhance participants media interaction skills. Speakers will include a neurologist with media experience, as well as media professional. Topics will include approaches and strategies for conventional print and broadcast media as well as social media platforms. Participants should gain an understanding of the importance of media relations and recognize the role of media in shaping public perception and the importance of engaging with the media effectively; learn how to craft messages that are clear, concise, and tailored to different media audiences; and contrast conventional and social media approaches to communication, to appreciate the different strategies required for these platforms.
