“Neurodiversity in the Clinic,” November 7, 2024, 1:00 p.m.–2:00 p.m. CT
This webinar, presented by Diana M. Cejas, MD, MPH, of UNC-Chapel Hill, will review best practices for affirming neurodiversity amongst health care providers, staff, and patients. The session will include a brief primer on the topic, core principles of neurodiversity-affirming practices, and a discussion panel. .
“LGBTQ+ Health in Neurology,” December 5, 2024, 3:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m. CT
Presented by Nicole Rosendale, MD, of UCSF Health, this webinar will cover LGBTQ+ terminology and health disparities, strategies to collect data on sexual orientation and gender identity in clinical settings, the role of LGBTQ+ identity specific to neurological illness, and ways to create a welcoming and inclusive clinic environment. .
“Strategies to Address Health Care Disparities,” December 17, 2024, 1:00 p.m.–2:00 p.m. CT
The series will conclude with a webinar presented by Lida Maria V. R. Moura, MD, MPH, PhD, FAAN, of Mass General Hospital. It will cover concepts, theories, and practical examples of value-based health care, focusing on condition-centered care and aligning payment incentives to improve patient outcomes; value-based methods to address health care disparities in neurology to better align care with patient needs and outcomes; ways to engage community health workers in the care of patients with anxiety, depression, and other complex conditions; and strategies for scalable and sustainable health care interventions. .
