Year-end Office Closure December 25–January 1
Please note that the 好色先生 offices will be closed for a year-end break from December 25, 2024, through January 1, 2025. Q: How do I become a member of the AAN, and how much does membership cost?
A: To apply for membership with the 好色先生, start by completing the . Answer the required questions to be directed to the appropriate application for your membership type. Q: I believe I already have an existing AAN account; how can I verify this?
A: Verify an existing AAN account here by entering your name and email information in the fields and then clicking “Continue.” Accounts matching your information will be presented below. An AAN account is required to apply for AAN membership and to access AAN programs, products, and services.
Q: How do I renew my AAN membership?
A: Renewing is quick and easy to do online in your . Log in with your AAN ID (or email address) and password and click on the "Subscriptions" tab to renew via credit card or to download an invoice to provide to your financial department. We can also assist with renewals over the phone at (800) 879-1960 or (612) 928-6000.

- Military Discount: If you are a US-based neurologist and an active-duty military member, you may be eligible for a 25% discount on your AAN membership renewal. To apply, send verified documentation along with your name and AAN ID to memberservices@aan.com and a representative will assist you.
Q: How do I change my email address on file?
A: Log into your and click the “Email and Phone” section to change or add an email address to your AAN account. *Note: If you reset a password, the reset link will be sent to your preferred email address on file.
Q: I want to apply for AAN membership, but none of the categories fit my current situation. Can I still join?

Q: Are international medical graduates (IMGs) awaiting the neurology match cycle eligible for Physician Affiliate membership with the AAN?
A: Yes, IMGs awaiting the neurology match cycle are eligible for Physician Affiliate membership with the AAN. This membership is intended for physicians in other medical specialties, whether practicing in clinical or nonclinical fields, including those in the process of matching into a neurology residency program.
Q: Can international medical graduates practicing in the United States apply for Physician Affiliate membership with AAN?
A: Absolutely. International medical graduates who are currently practicing in the United States in fields related to neurology are eligible for Physician Affiliate membership with the AAN. *Note: Licensed physicians must apply for neurologist or physician affiliate membership and do not qualify for non-physician memberships.
Q: When will my membership expire?
A: Neurologist, Physician Affiliate, Researcher, Advanced Practice Provider, and Business Administrator memberships run on a calendar year dues cycle, valid from January 1 through December 31.
Student, Intern, and Junior memberships run on an academic cycle, valid from July 1 through June 30.
Q: I'm a Junior member, and my training program ends this spring. Is there anything I need to do to ensure my benefits don't lapse?
A: On July 1, your account will transition automatically to a 6-month complimentary online membership valid until December 31. Then, the AAN will notify you once you are eligible to renew for the upcoming calendar year. To confirm or update training start/end dates with AAN, please reach out to memberservices@aan.com.
Q: How do I become a FAAN?
A: AAN Fellow status acknowledges exemplary work and achievements in the neurosciences, the clinical practice of neurology, or academic/administrative neurology, in the AAN, and your community. AAN members may review their qualifications status in their Member Profile, and review application requirements. The AAN begins tracking qualifications after residency training concludes.

Q: How do I become a Senior member? Do I need to renew each year as a Senior member?
A: The AAN offers a free Senior membership. You may be eligible if you have been a member for five years or more, and are fully retired, disabled, or are working less than 15 hours per week of professional activity. Learn more or Apply.
Senior membership automatically renews on the calendar year cycle.
*If an optional subscription to the Neurology® Journal has been purchased, this must be renewed each year to continue access. All subscriptions run on a calendar year from January 1 through December 31. Renewals can be made before or after your previous subscription's end date. Q: Can I get an official certificate of AAN membership?

Q: How much can I deduct from my dues for tax purposes?
A: The AAN is a 501(c)(6) tax-exempt organization. For US members, 90 percent of 2024 membership dues may be treated as a deductible business expense.
Q: I want to subscribe to Continuum®. Is a subscription included in AAN Membership?
A: AAN Junior members on the academic dues cycle receive a one-year subscription to Continuum® included as a benefit of Junior membership. All other AAN member types are eligible to purchase Continuum® at a discounted member rate. Please note: Continuum® subscriptions are now handled separately from your AAN membership dues renewal. Q: What publications are included with AAN membership?

Q: Can I have specific publication benefits delivered to multiple addresses?
A: Yes! Add or edit addresses in the "Mailing Preferences" section of your to easily assign publication delivery to the desired address(es).
Q: How long until I can access AAN publication benefits included with my membership?
A: Upon renewing a membership, AAN benefits are valid from the date your payment is received (next business day). If you're joining the AAN for the first time, this activation occurs once the application is approved, which generally requires two business days. Members should allow up to 72 hours of processing time to access Continuum: Lifelong Learning in Neurology®.
Q: Does AAN offer online-only access to publications?
A: Yes. Members who wish to discontinue physical mailings may adjust their preferences in their Member Profile by clicking the "" tab.
Q: I have AAN Senior membership. Can I still receive access to the Neurology® Journal?
A: A Neurology® journal subscription is optional for Senior members. Senior members may subscribe by logging into their AAN Profile, visiting the Subscriptions tab, and selecting the Neurology® Journal. The current rate for this subscription from January through December 2024 is $200.00. If applying for Senior membership, applicants will receive instructions to renew their subscription upon Senior application approval. Q: I don’t want to receive print versions of journals or other AAN publications. How can I discontinue mailing?

Q: I registered for an AAN conference as a nonmember; now I want to join the AAN. What do I do?
